The all Ireland finals will take place in Knightsbrook Golf Club Co. Meath 15th to 17th September 2022. Abbeyleix’s quarterfinal match V Edmonstown Golf Club Thursday 15th September 2022 at 12.40 p.m. Semi Finals will take place on Friday 16th September at 10.00 a.m. and the final is scheduled on Saturday 17th September 2022 at 9.30 a.m. Best of luck to, The Club, Team Management and Panel of Players

Team was selected as follows: Home Team: Papa Fennelly and Michael Anderson (win), Noel Burke and Declan Clooney. Away Team: Donal O’Gorman and Paul Monnelly, Anthony Collins and Donal OCallaghan (win), Liam Ryan and Pat ORourke. We wish Roscrea Golf Club continued success in their future rounds. Team Manager: John Fennelly. This match came down to the wire the last pairing getting beaten on the 19th.

  • Senior Cup Round 2:Abbeyleix Golf Club vs Moate Golf Club Sunday 29th May 2022 Abbeyleix Golf Club V Moate Golf Club.What a match! Finally won on the 22nd hole by James Deegan, a hum dinger of a match. All matches won at Home. Brendan Murphy wins match on 16th 3&2, Ronan Purcell wins match on 15th 4&3. Away: Gearoid Purcell loss on the 18th Shaun Murphy loss 4&3.
    Congratulations to Abbeyleix on a hard earned victory and hard luck to Moate who played in the spirit of the game with honour and skill. Well done to the team and all concerned. A big thank you to all our supporters on the day. What an exciting finish.

    Congratulations to Abbeyleix Golf Clubs Junior Cup Team on their win over Gowran Park Golf Club on Friday 27th May. It was a well fought match played in great spirit by both Teams. Hard luck to Gowran who put up a great fight. Abbeyleix Team at home: Eoghan Fennelly, Gearoid Purcell and James Deegan. Team away: Cian Purcell and Shaun Murphy. Manager: Brendan Murphy.
    Gowran Park Team Away: Hughie OShaughnessy, Patrick ONeill and Niall Tracy. Home Team: Richard McKeever and Paul Hurley. Manager: James Hurley. Abbeyleix won their three home games, the two away games were called in.

Outcome: Win for James Deegan on the 14th, Gearoid Purcell on 15th, loss for Enda Rowland on 15th at Home. Win or Cathal Phelan in Esker Hills on the 14th Eoghan Fennelly all square was called in.   • Junior Cup Round 4 (Quarter Final): Sunday 10th July 2022 Abbeyleix Golf V St Helen’s Bay Golf Club. Home advantage to St Helen’s. Loss for Abbeyleix. Playing at Home Eugene Fennelly had a 5&4 win and Gearoid Purcell lost his match on the 17th. Alas we had no success away. Team away: Cathal Phelan, Shaun Murphy and James Deegan. Manager Brendan Murphy. A lot of credit to the players and the management of the team for their commitment and hard work.
